“Angh” is set in 1960s Nagaland, eastern India, and tells the story of a proud Konyak chief struggling to protect his dying traditions when an American missionary arrives with promises of aid that threaten his people’s identity.

The film follows the chief as his wife’s health deteriorates and famine looms, and he must make an impossible choice between survival and staying true to his ancestral ways. This pivotal role is played by BAFTA-winning actor Douglas Henshall, known for his role in BBC’s “Shetland.”
